Forest Lake Outfitters

Fishing at Forest Lake Outfitters is the synonymous with "Canadian Fishing". Not only do we offer incredible Lake fishing, but extraordinary River fishing as well!
At Forest Lake Outfitters your going to find four major species:

  • Walleye: freshwater fish native to most of Canada and the US. This fish is sometimes also called the "Yellow Walleye" to set it apart from the "Blue Walleye". Walleye can grow up to 31 inches (80cm) in length and average 2lb-8lbs.
  • Lake Trout: this freshwater fish live mainly in lakes in North America, and is prized both as a food fish and a game fish. Lake trout are the largest of this species, documented largest caught with rod and reel was 72 lbs (33kg). This is slow-growing fish, very late to mature (a 20lb fish is 50 years old!) The average catch is 6lbs to 8lbs.
  • Arctic Grayling: this freshwater fish is linked to the salmon family. This beautiful fish is distinguished from the similar graylings with the absence of dorsal and anal spines and by the presence of a larger number of soft rays in these fins. The dark mid-lateral band between the pectoral and pelvic fins, and the flanks possess a pink iridescence giving it a glowing appearance. Catches are up to 2.5lbs.
  • Northern Pike: Also known as Jackfish in parts of Canada, is a carnivorous freshwater species typically found in brackish and freshwater. Since they grow to relatively large size 59 inches (150cm) and 55 lbs (25kg) they are also a great game fish. The catches in our area average 2lbs - 10 lbs, but up to 30lb has been caught.

 LAKELAKE

REMEMBER: Taxidermists only need 2 measurements, girth and length along with a photo of the fish. They prefer NOT to receive an actual fish. Flex mounts are by far the best way to show of your trophy!

To maintain the quality of fishery, we ask our guests to pinch the barb on the hooks.
