Clearwater River
Clearwater River offers some great Grayling fishing in the pools near the rapids. Grayling to2.5lbs, Walleye to 7lbs and Pike to 15lbs (Jet boat access only).
Previously, the lodges guests only fished the stretch of water up to the first set of rapids. We purchased a jet boat and plan on exploring the river this summer as we are licensed to fish this system up to the Alberta/Saskatchewan border. Hopefully we can offer a worthwhile fly fishing adventure in the near future as there are a ton of fish that have never seen a lure yet. We will also offer adventure for those that prefer to use conventional tackle.
Flies and fly rods or ultralight spinning tackle is recommend for the grayling. Don't forget to bring your camera and measuring tape as these fish would make a spectacular mount. Northern Pike can be caught with either choice of tackle and will put up a good fight as most river fish do. There are some beautiful Walleye in this river also, so a nice assortment of jigs would come in handy. Chest waders and bug spray would be highly recommended. We will carry the bear deterrent.
